Parents' Guide to Honeymoon Crasher

Parents need to know that Honeymoon Crasher (Lune de Miel Avec Ma Mère) is a French remake of a Spanish film, which was itself a remake of a U.S. film. It contains sexual scenarios, drinking, drugs, and swearing. A man and his mother pretend to be a married couple, provoking uncomfortably sexualized scenes between them. They play a drinking game where they ask each other about their sexual experiences, eliciting talk of past encounters, same-sex experiences, and sex with twins. Other sexual language and references include mention of cheating, "passion," being "intimate," "swinging," and "open legs." Shadows behind a curtain look like two people engaging in sexual acts, including oral sex (they're not). Two people do have sex on the beach (we don't see the act). A man emerges from a pool of water covered in leeches; someone pees on him to counteract their venom. A man gets terrible digestive issues from drinking local tap water; he must urgently find places to relieve himself. A man and his mother get arrested in a drug bust, spending a little time in jail. A woman recalls finding a lump in her breast; she was fine. Adults drink alcohol and get drunk, smoke cigarettes, and get high. Language in the English subtitles includes one use of "f--k" as well as "s--t," "hell," "damn," "a--hole," "son of a bitch," and more. The movie is filmed in French and set in Mauritius, with mostly French actors and some Spanish and presumably local Mauritian actors, including some resort staff and dancers as well as a scene involving a family selling drugs.
