Parents' Guide to How High

Parents need to know that How High is a comedy about two friends (Method Man and Redman) who get into Harvard by cheating on a test. By smoking the ashes of a friend who recently died, that friend is able to visit them as a ghost and tell them all the answers. Once at Harvard, the two friends try to survive classes, uptight peers, and a dean who wishes them gone. There's a lot of drug talk, scenes that show college-age kids smoking weed, and some beer drinking. There is also a lot of sexually objectifying women, sexual innuendos and jokes, and mentions of oral sex. There is some brief nudity (bare breasts). Men have sex with women and then sell the sex tape of the encounter without consequence. Men watch pornography and one of them masturbates underneath his jeans. Two sex workers try to seduce some college students. Violence only happens in comical tones, like when a man accidentally sets himself on fire, falls out of a window onto the street, gets hit by a bus, and dies. Birds blow up in an office, covering it with bird guts, poop, and feathers. Some stereotyping and racism toward Asian men. Strong language includes all iterations of "f--k," "s--t," "a--hole," "ass," "d--k," "t--ties," the "N" word, "bitch," "p---y," "goddamn," "midget," "ghetto," "Uncle Tom," and "hell."
