What's the Story?
I AM EVIDENCE is a documentary about sexual assault cases and untested rape kits in the United States. The film features law enforcement officials and experts on the topic and the stories of sexually-assaulted survivors.
Is It Any Good?
The filmmakers provide a powerful presentation about sexual assault case investigations led by police departments in the United States. In I Am Evidence, Kym Worthy is the Wayne County prosecutor who wants to know why untested rape kits have been stockpiled for years by law enforcement officials in Detroit, Michigan. Worthy is also an assault survivor and says "I have adopted daughters and you want them to grow up in a world where there may not be sexual assault, or if God forbid, they are assaulted, their case will be important. Their kit will not be sitting on a shelf."
