This sequel tries very hard to be gritty and serious, but it's hard to take seriously. On top of not being convincing, Inside Furioza is incredibly long and unnecessarily violent. This sequel severely fails to offer compelling main characters to help audiences through its almost three-hour runtime. While Golden may have been a mildly interesting character the first time round, this spin-off movie devotes its entirety to his rise and fall alone, which is to the film's detriment. Put simply, his character offers no reason to care about him. He simply snorts a lot of cocaine, makes brash decisions, and brazenly acts "wild and crazy."

Even worse, the film is so enamored with Golden that it's clearly unaware of reinforcing the tired trope of man stalks woman, keeps trying, she keeps saying "no," but eventually succumbs to the man's "charms," and they fall in love. Further, even during this "courtship," Golden shows no behavior that any normal person would consider romantic, charming, or funny. Almost all of his behavior is aggressive, entitled, and often scary. And the film rewards this kind of behavior by saying to its audience, this kind of character is worth making a whole movie about. Look at how he conquers the drug game, the police, and women!
