This fast-paced documentary about two of today's most popular comedians is fun, funny, and full of good vibes and behind-the-scenes tidbits. You don't have to be a fan of either comedian to appreciate the historical take on the last 30-plus years of stand-up comedy explored in Kevin Hart & Chris Rock: Headliners Only… but you probably will be by the end. The film gives insights into how each got his start, and the hard work and occasional breaks it took to get to where they are. The duo comes across as confident, grateful, and kind, not to mention hilarious. Hart is called the affable one, and he does do much more of the off-the-cuff talking than Rock. Director Rashidi Natara Harper weaves their stories together seamlessly, with pumping hip-hop providing the transitions.

The pair worked with, mentored, or followed in the footsteps of some of comedy's greats. Early Black comedians especially laid the foundation that allowed Rock and Hart to succeed -- people like Eddie Murphy, Keith Robinson, and "The Original Kings of Comedy." In addition to conversations with Hart and Rock about their families, careers, and what they mean to each other, other comedians chime in -- like Dave Chappelle, Jerry Seinfeld, Bill Burr, and more. Their uplifting stories could inspire those hoping to follow in their path.
