What's the Story?

Ada (Antonina Litwiniak) is a typical 12-year-old whose father has gone missing in KLEK'S ACADEMY. One day she is visited by a birdman (Sebastian Stankiewicz) who tells her she has been given a special invitation to attend a fairy tale academy overseen by an uncle (Tomasz Kot) she didn't know she had. There, she meets kids from all over the world, and befriends Albert (Konrad Repinski), a shy and offbeat child she helps pull out of his shell. What Ada doesn't know is that the birdman is wanted by a pack of wolfurs (wolf-like humans) for having killed a member of their pack years ago. Their hunt for vengeance will impact the entire academy, and it will be up to Ada to keep them safe.

Is It Any Good?

Our review:
Parents say : Not yet rated
Kids say ( 1 ):

This Polish adventure has a big heart, but it's also cluttered with a few too many elements and ideas. Some aspects of Klek's Academy may also be too scary for younger viewers, while the circus-like imaginative elements aren't likely to appeal to older audiences. Klek's is clearly intended to launch a franchise. The open ending and Hogwarts-esque magic academy tell us so. But it remains to be seen if this first entry will interest international audiences, who can watch it dubbed on Netflix but may still find the material too foreign-feeling. Future entries would do well to better streamline ideas and images and make clearer transitions between events to reach more viewers.
