A Lot or a Little?
The parents' guide to what's in this movie.
What Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that Lamborghini: The Man Behind the Legend is a biopic based on the early life of the Italian creator of the luxury vehicles brand. Ferruccio Lamborghini -- played by Frank Grillo and Romano Reggiani playing the younger version -- shows perseverance as he attempts to make his dream a reality. However, his obsession to succeed also leads him to betray those close to him as well as making enemies, including rival Enzo Ferrari (Gabriel Byrne) and his family. The movie shows dangerous driving without seatbelts and after a crash, two men have blood on their faces. In a graphic and poorly-handled scene, a woman dies during childbirth and a lot of blood is shown gushing out of her. Language is infrequent but strong and includes "f--k" and "pr--k." Ferruccio frequently smokes cigarettes and alcohol is occasionally drunk. Women are poorly represented and restricted to either entirely doting on their partners or nagging them.

What's the Story?
In LAMBORGHINI: THE MAN BEHIND THE LEGEND, Ferruccio Lamborghini (Frank Grillo / Romano Reggiani) returns from the World War II with a dream of revolutionizing the tractor industry. Yet what he ends up creating is a luxury sports car brand. But with friends and family left by the wayside, greatness comes at a cost.
Is It Any Good?
Even classic car fans will struggle to find something to enjoy in this recount of how a WWII veteran set out to corner the tractor market and ended up creating a beloved sports car company. Functional at best, Lamborghini: The Man Behind the Legend merely ticks off plot points rather than crafts them with the film falling flat in the process. Frequent engineering talk happens with no thought for the viewer who wants a good movie rather than a technical lesson. Add to that the dodgy accents and a badly handled, graphic, bloody, and ill-fated childbirth scene that is way beyond the movie's skill level, and the result is a biopic that quickly runs out of gas.
