What's the Story?

In LOOK AWAY, Maria (India Eisley), a shy young woman who is bullied at school and at home, becomes enthralled by her reflection, only to discover it has its own name and personality: Airam. The more confident Airam slowly begins to take over Maria's life, leading to chaos and violence.

Is It Any Good?

Our review:
Parents say : Not yet rated
Kids say ( 1 ):

This horror movie isn't worth your time. The premise of having your reflection lure you into committing acts that go against your nature and best interests goes all the way back to the myth of Narcissus, and artists have been using it as inspiration for centuries. Director Assaf Bernstein's version of this in Look Away turns into a slow-paced horror film that aims for depth but delivers cheap thrills.

Although India Eisley gives a committed performance as the shy Maria and her "evil reflection" Airam, the rest of the film never lives up to the passion of its leading lady. Laden with stereotypes and clichés, Bernstein commits the biggest filmmaking sin: making a movie you always want to look away from.
