Mulan Princess Warrior
What's the Story?
In MULAN: PRINCESS WARRIOR, Hua Mulan (voiced by Kim Mai Guest) is a talented fighter, known for her martial arts skills and strong will. During a mission to assassinate a rival prince, Mulan ends up meeting Arke (voiced by Alan Lee), a young warrior from the opposing side. As the two journey together and face dangerous enemies, they begin to grow close. But Mulan's commander isn't happy about her failure to complete the mission, and bigger conflicts begin to unfold. With the help of a new friend, Mulan must choose between following orders and doing what she believes is right—for her people and for herself.
Is It Any Good?
Mulan: Princess Warrior is full of exciting battles, fun music, and strong female leads. The animation looks a little outdated at times, but the fast-paced sword fights and a few surprising twists keep things interesting. One of the best parts is seeing not just one but two brave female warriors.
The movie skips over Mulan's backstory and jumps right into her life as a soldier, which works fine for viewers already familiar with her story. The romance is sweet (if a little cheesy), and the music helps add energy to some of the slower scenes. Some parts, like the final battle, go on a bit too long and may feel drawn out. Still, the messages about courage, unity, and following your own path give the story heart. While some scenes might be a little intense for younger viewers, older kids who enjoy martial arts adventures and stories about standing up for what's right will likely enjoy this version of Mulan.
