My Boo 2
Parent and Kid Reviews
What's the Story?
MY BOO 2 continues the story of Joe (Sutthirak Subvijitra), who is still searching for Anong (Maylada Susri) and trying to understand why their lives seem connected across time. As Joe uncovers more about the supernatural curse surrounding them, the story moves through different timelines where their paths keep crossing in strange and sometimes dangerous ways. Along the way, Joe must face violent spirits, zombies, and other supernatural threats while trying to figure out how he can finally save Anong and break the cycle that keeps pulling them back together.
Is It Any Good?
This is a messy sequel that stretches a simple love story far beyond what it can sustain. My Boo 2 returns to the romance between Joe and Anong, but instead of building on what worked in the first film, it piles on complicated ideas about time travel, destiny, and supernatural curses. The movie keeps insisting that their love is meant to be across different timelines, yet the constant resets and alternate versions of events end up weakening the emotional core rather than strengthening it. What once felt bittersweet and mysterious now becomes repetitive, as if the film doesn't trust that the original love story was enough.
The film also struggles to balance its genres. Moments of romance, horror, and comedy never quite settle into a rhythm, and some additions, like a storyline involving flesh-eating zombies, feel baffling rather than exciting. The shifting timelines are difficult to follow, partly because they are confusing and partly because they rarely feel engaging. Instead of expanding the world of the first movie in a meaningful way, the sequel mostly repeats its themes while undoing parts of the earlier story. The result raises an unavoidable question about who this movie is really for. Even viewers who enjoyed the original may find this follow-up less satisfying, turning a once quirky ghost romance into something that feels unnecessarily complicated and strangely unfocused.
