Is It Any Good?

Our review:

The Netflix special Olivia Rodrigo: GUTS World Tour feels like both concert and catharsis. The camera zooms in on the singer's young, female fans weeping, shouting, and clutching their besties during a full playlist of songs about breakups and falling in love. Rodrigo plays to the crowd with knowing looks, sweet waves, angsty moves, and a dreamy sequence where she floats above the arena on a glowing crescent moon.

The camera offers some other interesting angles during the concert, transmitting above- and below-stage footage of the singer and her flowing, all-female dance troupe to a wide screen behind the performers. It's a testament to Rodrigo's catchy recent oeuvre that this filmed concert doesn't get too boring. It also provides a small peek into a sector of society and its concerns, as conveyed through pop culture.
