What's the Story?
In PK, while visiting Earth, an alien has the remote control to his spaceship stolen leaving him stranded. Desperate to get home, the alien, PK (Aamir Khan), may be in luck when journalist Jaggu (Anushka Sharma) decides to help him.
Is It Any Good?
This heartwarming Indian sci-fi comedy is entertaining from the off and delivers some great messages in the process. Directed and co-written by Rajkumar Hirani, PK is at once hilarious, romantic, and heartbreaking, while still affording itself room to critique institutionalized religion. Khan delivers a splendid performance as an alien who challenges societal norms, while Sharma's character is charming, sarcastic, and determined. Interspersing its sci-fi themes and societal commentary with fun and cheesy romantic tunes that are patent to Bollywood, PK is a must-watch rollercoaster ride that leaves its audience with something sincere and serious to think about and actively question.
