Princess Halle and the Jester
Parent and Kid Reviews
What's the Story?
In PRINCESS HALLE AND THE JESTER, goblins invade the kingdom and capture the king (Byron Herlong). Princess Halle (Emma Duchesneau) escapes with a jester (Duncan Novak) to his village. To conceal her identity, she disguises herself as a peasant and experiences life outside the palace walls. Meanwhile, her stepmother (Rachel Stacy) takes over and offers a reward for Halle's capture. Now, Halle must team up with her new friends to rescue her father and restore peace to the kingdom while navigating the dangers of giants and thwarting her stepmother's plans for takeover.
Is It Any Good?
Princess Halle and the Jester gives a nod to classic fairy tales, following Princess Halle as she falls into an adventure to escape an evil stepmother. Like the classic story of Snow White, Halle learns valuable lessons about courage and kindness while navigating through challenges. However, the movie's low-budget special effects may not meet everyone's expectations, sometimes feeling out of place.
Despite this, there are some funny moments and thrilling scenes that keep the story engaging. While suitable for older kids, parents should be aware of some intense moments that might be overwhelming for younger viewers. Overall, Princess Halle and the Jester delivers an entertaining tale with subtle positive messages despite its visual shortcomings.
