Parents' Guide to Revelations

Parents need to know that Revelations is a Korean dramatic thriller about a pastor struggling to find peace after discovering that his wife has been having an affair. Meanwhile, a known sex offender has been released back into the neighborhood, and he may or may not be looking for new victims. Expect some moments of strong violence, killing, abduction, torture, and fighting. Characters in various scenes talk about sexual violence, sexual abuse, "rapists," and "sex offenders," self-harm, and suicide. A character tells a story of another character killing herself. A little girl is tied up and shown screaming and crying. Characters are tied up, threatened, beaten, and suffocated. Characters fight, choke, and hit other characters, sometimes with objects like pipes, guns, or shovels. A character with a saw slices the arm of another character. A character stumbles off a cliffside, rolls, and hits their head on a rock, blood pouring down the face, with open eyes afterward. A character falls off a construction building and dies upon impact (shown). Testimony given in a courtroom details sexual and physical abuse of a child (boy) who "was beaten daily," "had hands put in boiling water," "was waterboarded," and "was beaten until there was a dent in his head." A character threatens his wife and demands that she confess to her adultery; he grabs her hair and yells at her menacingly. An adult male character creepily follows a girl through the streets. Adult characters talk about adultery and romantic relationships. An investigator mentions evidence of cheating, "condoms," and "semen." Characters kiss. Strong language includes a few instances of "f--k," "bitch," and "hell," and more than a few instances of "a--hole" and "bastard."
