She Taught Love
What's the Story?
SHE TAUGHT LOVE tells the story of apathetic actor Frank (Darrell Britt-Gibson), who finds new purpose in life and career when he finally gets neighbor Mali (Arsema Thomas) to go out with him. What he doesn't know is that Mali is dying of cancer, and doctors have told her she has only two years to live. Mali wants to make the most of their time together, but Frank is struggling with the weight of his emotions.
Is It Any Good?
Complex and attractive characters in an emotional, life-or-death scenario lift this proficient romantic drama above others cut from a similar cloth. Lead actor Britt-Gibson also wrote the script for She Taught Love, weaving a believable tale of opposites falling in love. It helps that the characters are placed in eye-catching settings, from graffiti-dotted city streets to elegantly appointed homes, crisp offices, and lush gardens.
