A Lot or a Little?
The parents' guide to what's in this movie.
What Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that Sniper: Rogue Mission is a 2022 action movie in which three federal agents go undercover to bust a federal agent who is aiding a sex trafficking ring. Expect a lot of bloody action movie violence, including a mass shooting of kidnapped women forced into working in internet chat rooms. Predictably enough, some characters are shot and killed by sniper fire. Characters are shot and killed in the head at close range; blood. Fighting with rifles, guns, knives, punches, kicks, and a baseball bat. Strong language throughout, including "motherf--ker" and "f--k." Beer, wine, and alcohol drinking.
What's the Story?
In SNIPER: ROGUE MISSION, Zero (Ryan Robbins) and Brandon (Chad Michael Collins) are federal agents looking to take down a sex trafficking ring. While engaging in surveillance, they see their boss, Agent Cusamano, working with a woman who is a known sex trafficker, and Brandon arrests him. This gets him in trouble with his boss, Agent Stone (Dennis Haysbert), who now must place Brandon under suspension. In spite of this, Brandon is determined to stop the sex traffickers at all costs, and works with Zero and a woman named Mary Jane, a victim of sex traffickers who escaped a mass shooting of the other women she was with in a warehouse where the women were forced to work in internet chat rooms. It doesn't take long to discover that Cusamano has also pulled the credentials of Zero, and now they must go to drastic measures to end the sex trafficking ring once and for all.
Is It Any Good?
On the whole, this is a basic and mostly underwhelming action movie. Sniper: Rogue Mission revels in cliches like agents who are close to retirement and world-weary, idealistic young agents who don't always play by the rules in order to stop the bad guys, gratuitous violence at every turn. Oh, and there's also some sniping, in case you were wondering. It's pretty mindless entertainment if you're into that kind of thing, and it certainly doesn't break any new ground.
The acting isn't bad, and the character development is slightly above the already low bar of action movie character development. The story itself is one you're likely to forget about less than a week after watching it.
