Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari
Parent and Kid Reviews
What's the Story?
In SUNNY SANSKARI KI TULSI KUMARI, Sunny (Varun Dhawan) and Tulsi (Janhvi Kapoor) are both heartbroken when their respective partners decide to marry each other instead. Determined to change their fate, the pair team up to crash the wedding in a bid to win them back.
Is It Any Good?
This Bollywood romcom, directed by Shashank Khaitan, fails to captivate despite its acclaimed cast. Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari features imposing sets and elaborate melodrama and tackles themes of classism that crucially define life in top-tier Indian cities. Yet the mediocre writing lacks sincerity, undermining its attempts to say something meaningful about class and tradition. The humor relies heavily on references to past Bollywood hits rather than original jokes, making the viewing experience monotonous. Despite the presence of popular stars Dhawan and Kapoor, neither performance elevates the weak material. The film squanders its potential to offer sharp social commentary, settling instead for surface-level romance punctuated by nostalgic callbacks.
