What's the Story?

In THODA PYAAR THODA MAGIC, four children, orphaned in a car accident, are sent to live with Ranveer (Saif Ali Khan), the very man responsible for their parents' deaths. As tensions run high in the household, an angel named Geeta (Rani Mukerji) is sent from heaven to bring them together.

Fans of Bollywood family dramas won't find many surprises in Kunal Kohli's comedy-drama. Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic follows a familiar, predictable arc but is elevated by stellar performances from Khan and Mukerji. With its sweet messages about togetherness and kindness, chirpy music, fantastical magic, and quirky humor, the film delivers a feel-good vibe, which in part explains why it's been likened to Mary Poppins. However, this lightness of touch comes at the expense of a deeper exploration of grief, loss, and loneliness, which could have been handled with more sincerity. At its heart, this is a simple and light Bollywood film that passes the time but isn't likely to inspire repeat viewings.
