What's the Story?

In 2017, drummer Travis Barker escaped a plane crash, but his recovery—from the crash, as well as drug addiction and the trauma of losing his mother very young—was far from over as TRAVIS BARKER: LOUDER THAN FEAR reveals. The film details Travis' life, from a childhood that took a turn after his mother's death when he was 15, to his career as a respected drummer, to addiction recovery, remarriage, and fatherhood. The film features bandmates, other musicians, family members, and friends who help provide context for what Barker experienced. Footage was shot for the film over the course of nine years, between 2017 and 2026.

This documentary feels heartfelt in its 9-year effort to record Barker's journey, but it's another example of a film made for a very niche audience. Granted, that niche may be wider for Travis Barker: Louder than Fear, considering his genre-spanning career, his Kardashian wife's fame, and his recent public work promoting a healthy lifestyle (through his Run Travis Run initiative). He has a compelling story of overcoming trauma and addiction, and its one that could resonate with many viewers.
