Parent and Kid Reviews

What's It About?

Each 14-minute episode of the EXTRABLURT JR. podcast leads listeners through simple games designed to teach about a basic topic like dinosaurs, playgrounds or sweet treats. A chime cues listeners to say their answers aloud, whether naming objects in a category, trying a tongue twister, or deciding whether a statement is real or made up. The podcast has classic game show sound effects like applause, pensive music for thinking time, and upbeat interludes.

Is It Any Good?

Our review:
Parents say : Not yet rated
Kids say : Not yet rated

Young kids who enjoy thinking fast and blurting out answers might enjoy being the star of this peppy game show experience. With each episode broken into about six games, ExtraBLURT Jr. is appropriate for short attention spans, and encourages participation without competitiveness. The hosts model a friendly and enthusiastic tone, which older kids might find a little cheesy. While this podcast might help young kids build general knowledge on topics like houses, feelings, and fairy tales, there's not much representation of different people or cultures, and it's unlikely to inspire any deeper thinking.
