What's It About?

KIDNUZ is a kids podcast that features five to seven daily news stories focusing on current events happening in the world. New episodes premiere every weekday, and the news is explained in a way that's appropriate and understandable for kids. Host Tori Campbell delivers no-nonsense, unbiased news stories quickly and efficiently, with stories ranging from serious to humorous -- but always informative. The show runs the gamut of topics, covering foreign affairs, local stories, pop culture, entertainment, science, and sports. Each episode also includes two additional segments: daily quizzes to help kids retain the information they learned, and teacher appreciation shout-outs that celebrate notable educators from around the world as chosen by parents and kids.

Finding a reliable source to teach and inform kids about the news can be a tricky task. KidNuz and its creators don't have a specific agenda in place, which makes their no-nonsense, impartial news a great alternative for families who fear the risks of sensationalized media. The podcast is also the brainchild of four veteran broadcast journalists, which makes it a more trusted, informative, and reliable source. Even if stories are delivered in rapid succession, the hosts give proper context and broad perspective to each story despite how compact it is -- communicating in an engaging voice that is fun, entertaining, and safe. Acknowledging teachers at the end of each episode is a nice touch, as it encourages kids and their parents to reflect on the importance of educators and how they play a critical role in their lives. The quizzes are also challenging and spark curiosity. This is a great podcast to promote healthy news habits, and it's also a great opportunity for kids and their favorite adults to listen together.
