What's It About?

In the LEO THE TRUCK podcast, Lise Pedersen narrates the stories of curious Leo and his friends Lea the truck, Lifty the forklift, Scoop the excavator, and two robots in their adventures in the city and on the farm. As these friends adventure out to amusement parks, to harvest their fields, or to check on friends during a big storm, issues arise that require the help of others. Solving each problem requires teamwork and perseverance, and the friends don't stop working until they've come up with a solution together -- even if it takes more than one try. After working hard, there's always time for a break to play and have a cookie. The podcast is available in English, Spanish and French.

Young listeners are sure to fall in love with the music and stories of Leo and his friends as they set out on adventures together. The many fun characters in the Leo the Truck podcast actively discuss how to solve problems when they arise, modeling teamwork and figuring out tricky issues together. They use the skills each friend possesses, demonstrating that even though no one has all the answers, everyone has something valuable to contribute, and together they can tackle any challenge.

Always friendly and inviting, the friends take care of each other and finish every task they start, even when the work is hard. The balance of work and rest is emphasized, and after completing the task at hand, the friends enjoy time to play, helping kids understand balance in life. For youngest listeners, the idea that a cookie is a great reward for hard work is understandable, but older children could benefit from more examples of the intrinsic rewards in accomplishing their goals. Kids will enjoy the friendly tone and music while learning from Leo's adventures.
