Parents Need to Know that THE B&N YA PODCAST brings in authors of young adult novels to discuss their stories, the writing process, and themes within their novels. Episodes are geared towards fans of the authors or books that are being discussed. Most books that are discussed are for young adults and teens. Episodes could be great to listen to as a family, especially if there is a story you and your child read together. Episodes are also interesting for children who love to read and write as they learn about the writing process and how to identify themes within stories. Some episodes talk to authors who have written more mature works, discussing topics such as murder. Parents may want to look at episodes before letting younger kids listen on their own.
