What's It About?

THE DAILY releases episodes six days a week, keeping listeners up to date on the latest events, politics, and other news in the U.S. and worldwide. Created by The New York Times, episodes pull in factual reports, experts on various subjects, and interviews to break down complex, sometimes controversial topics in ways that are easy to understand in short 30-minute episodes. Each episode focuses on informing listeners on what they need to know about a given topic, as well as lesser known details to keep the episodes interesting. Sunday features special episodes, "The Sunday Read", that feature more investigative journalism as they dive deep into important topics and histories.

Episodes make current events, politics, and other news stories digestible and easy to listen to while on the go or as a screen-free news option at home. The Daily focuses on making these stories understandable to help everyone stay politically and socially informed. With their first-hand interviews and unique perspectives, you'll feel like an expert on current events and with the backing of The New York Times, listeners can trust the sources. Some episodes may be too heavy or dense in language and political jargon, but this can also be a great learning opportunity for tweens and teens to explore alongside trusted adults.
