What's It About?

YOUNG & INDIGENOUS is a podcast created by the youth of the Lummi Nation of Bellingham, Washington with the mission of cultural preservation. This podcast serves as a space for Indigenous youth to learn about their culture, language and history through the authentic voices of elders and fellow youth of the Lummi Nation. Each episode features inspiring aspects of the Lummi Nation's culture such as traditional music, language lessons and storytelling. Young & Indigenous also points out that it strives to have people from outside of the Lummi Nation community learn more about Indigenous tribes, people and culture through a reclaimed narrative.

This podcast is an important piece of the American culture. Young & Indigenous is revolutionary in its approach to the preservation and foundation of Indigenous culture, traditions, values and stories in the U.S. This podcast is everything you'd wish you'd learned from your history books. It's the reclaimed narrative of Indigenous tribes and people that anyone who steps foot on this earth should hear and learn.
