What's the Story?

ANGELA BLACK (Joanne Froggatt) plays many roles in her life: a doting mother, kennel worker, and loving wife. Except that her marriage to hot-tempered Olivier Meyer (Michiel Huisman) comes to a head, pushing Angela to come to terms with the abusive relationship. When she tries to take back control of her life, private investigator Ed Harrison (Samuel Adewunmi) reveals a web of mystery, secrets, and lies that block her path to freedom. But can Angela trust Ed? Can she trust anyone? What will she have to do to fend for her sons, safety, and sanity?

Is It Any Good?

Our review:
Parents say : Not yet rated
Kids say : Not yet rated

A high level of suspense and relentless deception carries a feeling of anxiety and distress throughout each episode of this mystery series. Angela Black also adds disturbing animal motifs that will definitely leave viewers on the edge of their seats to find out what happens next, though some character motives do seem a bit weak at times. Froggartt and Huisman bring a distressing quality to their characters that play eerily well, but the relationship between Angela and Olivier can be intense, visceral, and disturbing for younger viewers.
