What's the Story?
ANIMAL NATION WITH ANTHONY ANDERSON is an animal-themed series that combines the fun of home videos with the humor of a talk show. Anthony Anderson hosts the show, which features video clip packages, late night talk show-styled interviews with animal-loving celebrities, and experts who bring in special or unique animals. Helping him out is his sassy sidekick Tina the Brain Coral (voiced by Tiffany Haddish), and his field correspondent Alonzo Bodden.
Is It Any Good?
This entertaining series offers lots of lighthearted moments centering around endless species of animals. Anthony Anderson successfully uses his comedic style to get some laughs. Also adding to the fun are guests like George Lopez, Cheryl Hines, and Jerry O'Connell, many of who bring their own special pets to the set.
There are some informative moments, especially when experts bring animals on the set. But the show feels uneven at times because it mixes lots of kid-friendly moments with adult-oriented (albeit bleeped) language and humor. Nonetheless, Animal Nation is committed to celebrating the wonder of animals, and how interesting and fun they can be.
