What's the Story?

In ATOMIC, drug smuggler Max (Alfie Allen) is on his way to Beirut when he's ambushed by JJ (Shazad Latif). JJ forces Max at gunpoint to take him to Benghazi, but they don't get far before they're tracked down by whoever JJ was running from, plus the army. Max convinces JJ to team up to return to Beirut, where high-value statues are waiting for him to pick up and deliver to the cartel. When the pickup goes awry, Max and JJ steal the statues and are now on the cartel's hit list as well. When they discover the statues contain enough uranium to fuel an atomic bomb, the CIA is hot on their tail. To add to the tension, the cargo forces the duo to stay two meters apart; will they successfully save the delivery, or save themselves?

This series has a dynamite premise and a dynamic cast. Atomic is compelling and action-packed. Allen and Latif depict the complex, flawed, and odd charms of their characters and their relationship well. The violence, strong language, drinking and drugs makes this series suitable for older teens.
