What's the Story?

AYLA AND THE MIRRORS follows Ayla (Violeta Madel), a privileged teenage girl who loses her memory after a traumatic boat accident that leaves her father presumed dead. She finds herself living in a foster home, a stunning old building called The Forest, where she meets a group of kids who share her love of dance. The group, called The Mirrors, helps Ayla uncover her identity while navigating their own struggles and dreams.

Vibrant sets and energetic dance sequences are visually engaging and will appeal to younger viewers. But the writing and acting in Ayla and the Mirrors lean heavily into melodrama, which may feel over the top for older audiences. While Ayla's journey offers positive lessons about gratitude and kindness, the story is predictable and characters are often one-dimensional. The series is best suited for tweens, who will enjoy the mystery and colorful visuals, but parents should be aware of the occasional negative behaviors modeled by the characters.
