What Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that Below Deck Down Under is a slightly milder spin-off of the Below Deck series, and features all the reality fare the franchise is known for. There are petty disagreements among crew members, bleeped cursing, and some strong sexual innuendo, ranging from crude references and sexy dancing to blurred nudity. There's also lots of drinking. Labels for products like Coca Cola, Sprite, Corona, and other items or companies are partially visible.

What's the Story?
BELOW DECK DOWN UNDER, an installment of the Below Deck franchise, features a crew working onboard a luxury charter yacht off the coast of Queensland, Australia. Jason Chambers is the Captain of the Thalassa, which is hired to take tourists and divers to the Whitsunday Islands by the Great Barrier Reef. His new crew consists of Chief Steward Aesha Scott, stewards Tumi Mhlongo and Magda Ziomek, Bosun Jamie Sayed, and deckhands Brittini Burton, Culver Bradbury, and Ben Crawley. Rounding out the group is Chef Ryan McKeown. Together they must ensure that each group of guests are given a five-star experience. It's a fun job, but working with a demanding rotation of guests isn't easy, especially when things go wrong or the weather doesn't cooperate. They need to work as a team, even when there's lots of drama behind-the scenes.
Is It Any Good?
This predictable unscripted series spin-off features all the drama the franchise is known for. The new and attractive crew members are constantly negotiating each other's personalities and professional work habits, which leads to lots of squabbles and reprimands from their superiors. Meanwhile, the demanding guests range from pleasant and appreciative to rude and obnoxious, which leads to some wild moments and awkward interactions. All of this is set against the beautiful Coral Sea backdrop, and offers some fun underwater footage. Overall, Below Deck Down Under features few surprises, but it's entertaining enough if you're looking for a guilty pleasure.
Talk to Your Kids About ...
Families can talk about the training one has to have to work in the luxury boat charter industry. Do you agree with the idea that having an attractive crew is an important part of the business? Or is only important on reality shows?
How much of Below Deck Down Under is real? Or are things that happen framed in a way to make them seem more dramatic than what they are for viewing audiences?
