Danny Go!
What's the Story?
In DANNY GO!, Danny (Daniel Coleman) and his sidekicks Bearhead (Michael Finster), Pap Pap (Matthew Padgett), Gerald (Dominic Geralds), and Mindy Mango (Mindy Coleman) encourage the home viewer to copy their movements in real life. Every video shows Danny and friends (live-action adults) running through whimsical animated landscapes ranging from an erupting volcano to the frozen tundra. The on-screen characters do movements along to songs' high-energy beats, and ask kids at home to do the same. Kids might be jumping from stone to stone, "running" away from a pink tiger, or "kicking" snowballs at a rogue snowman. Danny and the gang always succeed in getting past the obstacles and running away from the silly villains, and kids at home always have a blast moving their bodies alongside their on-screen pals.
Is It Any Good?
Following in the footsteps of Cosmic Kids Yoga, Go Noodle, and others before it, Danny Go! is a fun and engaging way for little kids to get their wiggles out (especially useful during foul weather). Danny Go has the magical secret sauce that inspires kids to follow his every movement, and kids will end up exercising for long periods of time without realizing it. Kids love the silly animation, the Bearhead jokes, the high-energy music, and having fun while moving their bodies. Some grown-ups may find the music repetitive and Danny's demeanor a bit over the top, but many grown-up viewers get over those hangups and enjoy being silly and moving alongside their kids too.
