What's the Story?

DAYS WITH MY STEPSISTER follows Yuta Asamura (voiced by Kouhei Amasaki) and Saki Ayase (voiced by Yuki Nakashima), two high school students whose parents get remarried to each other. The sudden new family dynamic is awkward for them, but they find a way to get along. As their bond grows deeper, their relationship grows complicated. They begin to develop romantic feelings for each other and hide it from each other as well as everyone else.

This anime reflects themes that may be considered inappropriate for some audiences. Days with My Stepsister crosses a line by romanticizing an intimate relationship between step-siblings, which feels inappropriate. The show seems to blur these lines in ways that make the relationship uncomfortable to watch, even though "nothing happens." It feels like the creators are trying to inject a romantic or even fetishized element into a situation that should focus more on sibling-like bonds rather than attraction.
