What Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that Disney Family Sundays is a craft-themed series with projects inspired by Disney films. With direction from the host, families complete the crafts (minding basic safety precautions when necessary), and thorough directions are given so viewers can do the same at home. The show includes participants who are racially and gender diverse and have varied ability levels, and the projects themselves require a wide range of crafty skill levels. Because of this, parents who plan on doing the crafts with their own kids would be wise to select episodes whose supply lists and skills reflect their own to emphasize the fun.

What's the Story?
DISNEY FAMILY SUNDAYS brings families into a craft studio where host Amber Kemp-Gerstel's helps them complete creative projects inspired by Disney movies like Frozen 2, Up, and Dumbo. Working together, the parents and kids cut, sew, glue, and embellish DIY creations with personal touches and ties to some of their favorite Disney works. Each episode concludes with a recap of the project instructions for viewers to replicate at home.
Is It Any Good?
These projects range from fairly simple endeavors like melt-and-mold glycerin soap to more involved ones that require operating sewing machines, using laminators, and other more advanced skill sets. The directions are clear, and watching the families complete the crafts is an ample tutorial for viewers who want to copy the process, but because of the specialized supplies some of the projects need, parents might want to preselect the episodes they watch with their kids.
Disney Family Sundays is thoroughly emblazoned with the Disney image, but it's done in a way that doesn't offend so much as it combines favorite films and characters with engaging family-friendly activities. Crafty and creative families can find inspiration for new projects here and can pair them with movie night plans for even more fun together.
