What Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that Dogs 101 delves into touching anecdotes while packing in as many historical and scientific facts on dogs as time allows. It shows a lot of special relationships between dogs and caring and compassionate owners, including people with serious medical conditions and in assisted living centers. There is mention of how sharp the teeth of certain breeds are, and how likely they might be to bite. In one episode, there's also a brief mention, and images, of a fireman working with his dog to search for survivors during 9/11. He talks about his dog being brave and going into areas where he wasn't sure if he'd come back. Owners tear up while sharing stories of dogs being sick and passing away. There are also stories of dogs sensing their owner's health problems. An episode discusses the possibility of birds of prey, or bigger dogs, attacking very small dogs.

What's the Story?
In DOGS 101 viewers get to know all about individual dog breeds by their background, health, features, and more.
Is It Any Good?
Covering a handful of different dog breeds in each episode, this series is both educational and enjoyable for fans of canines. Dogs 101 delves into touching anecdotes while packing in as many historical and scientific facts as time allows. In the first episode, for example, viewers will be amazed to learn that French bulldogs are physically incapable of mating. They'll also get to see special relationships between dogs and owners, including dogs who have helped the elderly, people dealing with serious medical conditions, and more. As you learn more, it's fun to discuss as a family how the description of each breed matches up to the dogs owned by friends, family, and neighbors. And, of course, to speculate what type of dog might make the best addition to your family -- be prepared for the kids to ask after watching! In fact, the summary of facts for each breed, and emphasis on what each type of dog needs to stay happy and healthy, pretty much guarantees it will happen.
