What's the Story?

DOT CONNER: WEBTECTIVE follows an inquisitive girl named Dot who is an online personality. In her vlog, she shares her life and struggles with her followers, guiding them through her "detective journeys" whenever a question comes her way. "What makes someone perfect?" "Why do we make wrong choices?" With help from her friends Makayla and Alex, Dot searches the internet for an answer, talks to experts and follows clues to provide answers to herself, her followers, and now, viewers.

For families with Christian values, this series is a quick watch that introduces Bible principles in a fun, if somewhat cheesy, way. Dot Conner: Webtective uses the internet vlog format to connect with a young audience who is familiar with the online culture. The editing style is energetic and includes quick cuts, memes, and on-screen text. The series also includes animated segments to explain Bible verses and special guest appearances from people like Ryan Hollingshead and Bethany Hamilton (all of whom are devoted Christians).

Due to its strong religious themes, this series may not be for everyone. There is significant emphasis on feelings of guilt related to sin and punishment, which might not be ideal for children who are easily affected by such messages.
