What's the Story?

DOWN CEMETERY ROAD follows Sarah Trafford (Ruth Wilson), an art conservator who just does her job, mingles with her neighbors, and shmoozes with whomever her husband needs to impress at his job. But when a house explosion across the street leaves a little girl orphaned, Sarah can't help but feel like it wasn't an accident. Sarah turns to private detective Zöe Boehm (Emma Thompson) to help after authorities block her from seeing the little girl. Meanwhile government official Hamza (Adeel Akhtar) scrambles to cover up this botched hit job and keep nosy neighbors from discovering a much darker plan.

This series is compelling and darkly comedic. Down Cemetery Road balances morbidity, murder, and mild humor. Characters have intensely flawed and interesting dynamics. The language, drinking, violence, and sexual content makes this suitable only for older teens.
