What's the Story?
Nicco Annan goes DOWN IN THE VALLEY in this series celebrating stories from the Deep South. From exotic dancers in Tennessee, to a sex educator in Louisiana, host Nicco Annan truly goes deep into different Black artists, businesses, and cultures in the Bible Belt. Sometimes he joins them for dinner, where they share their complicated backgrounds and passions. Other times he joins them at their jobs, where they show what it takes to make it in their industry. Whether it's for survival, financial stability, freedom, or empowerment, Nicco learns what drives their hustle.
Is It Any Good?
This series paints a quick but detailed portrait of the Deep South. Down in the Valley is authentic, vulnerable, fast-paced, and fun. Each episode is packed with rich history and personality, which the short episodes don't give enough time to unpack. Viewers might be left wanting a longer runtime, but it doesn't make the stories any less insightful and unique. Fans of the series P-Valley will enjoy Nicco's charisma. The sexual content and language make this more suitable for older teens.
