What Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that Elmo's Playdate: Scavenger Hunt is a summer-specific special, based on Elmo's Playdate, that aired during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. The show aimed to help kids feel connected during those times when many felt isolated. There are many kid-friendly references to the fact that this summer is a little different than most, but characters focus on the positive instead of diving deeply into the specifics of the pandemic. The show offers ideas for making the most of summer, and there's no shortage of Sesame Street fun and figuring things out.

What's the Story?
During the summer of 2020, the coronavirus pandemic was raging, forcing many people to stay at home. In ELMO'S PLAYDATE: SCAVENGER HUNT, Elmo and his friends present creative ways to have fun and stay connected virtually through the summer. From competing in wacky races and belting out sing-a-longs to having picnics and cooking up cool recipes, Elmo, Abby, and the rest of the Sesame Street crew remind kids that a little bit of creativity can go a long way. Celebrities Gabrielle Union and Amy Sedaris also make vibrant cameos. This special is a followup to Elmo's Playdate, which celebrates virtual fun and friendships, created by Sesame Workshop's Caring for Each Other initiative.
Is It Any Good?
It's really hard to go wrong with Sesame Street, and this easily relatable special is no exception.
