What's the Story?

EVA THE OWLET HOLIDAY SPECIAL takes viewers to Treetopington during the community's winter solstice celebration. Eva, her friends, and family are busy preparing for the big party by reading winter solstice stories and writing their moon wishes. As the Wingdale family flies to the oak tree to hang their moon wishes, they discover Kai, an injured oriole who's been separated from his family during their journey south for the winter. The Wingdale family warmly welcome Kai to their holiday celebration and do their best to help him reconnect with his loved ones. Meanwhile, Eva finds herself torn between two important tasks: earning her flaptastic flyer from the fireflies, and helping Kai. In her biggest test of friendship yet, Eva must make a difficult choice: keep her special moon gift, or give it to Kai.

This festive episode is "absohootley" adorable. Eva the Owlet Holiday Special emphasizes the true meaning of any holiday: spending time with loved ones. Eva goes on a developmentally appropriate journey of discovering the importance of empathy and love over receiving presents. Diversity is also highlighted in a subtle way, as Kai and his family are orioles. This allows Eva to learn about the different customs and needs of birds who aren't owls. This is a great watch for fans of the series.
