Extraordinary World with Jeff Corwin
Parent and Kid Reviews
What's the Story?
EXTRAORDINARY WORLD WITH JEFF CORWIN pairs host Jeff Corwin with the Brady Hunter Foundation which sponsors all episodes and showcases non-profit organizations around the united States that help animals, individual people and communities in need.
Is It Any Good?
This series is a bite-sized intro to animal rights and conservation. Extraordinary World with Jeff Corwin is a bit formulaic and can feel like a corporate commercial for the sponsoring foundation, but the series shines a light onto organizations that are providing services, help and care for underrepresented people and animals while highlights conservation facts and efforts, so it's hard to critique too much.
Talk to Your Kids About ...
Families can talk about how many different organizations there are across the country, geared toward helping people and animals in need. Which local organizations can you think of that help animals or people in need, and have you, or would you consider volunteering with them?
Each episode of Extraordinary World focuses on specific animals or rescue/conservation groups. Are there any specific animals you'd want to help, or groups you and your family would consider joining?
Of all the "extraordinary facts" shown on screen, did any surprise or startle you? Do you think that staying aware of environmental facts and information is important? How do the statistics and facts make you feel?
The Brady Hunter Foundation sponsors all of the episodes of Extraordinary World. If you had a non-profit charity, who or what would you give back to? How could you help that group as an individual?
