What's the Story?

Directed by Steven Soderbergh (Out of Sight, Oceans Eleven), Full Circle begins with a kidnapping gone wrong. As the lives of those on both sides of the kidnapping begin to unravel, secrets are unveiled and connections are made between people who may never have otherwise met.

Is It Any Good?

Our review:

Kids say : Not yet rated

Like plenty of mediocre thrillers, this one withholds information as a way to attempt to build suspense. Full Circle begins by introducing a dozen or so characters with only hints at why they might be connected. It asks viewers to buy the story up front without ever really giving a reason to do so. There's no mystery to solve, and the scenes are rarely dramatic on their own merits. The action slowly ramps up, but not before the series sets an aimless, meandering tone. Director Steven Soderbergh approaches the series with an auteur's flare, Full Circle falls into the same trap as most streaming crime series: It's a movie-length idea stretched into six one-hour episodes.

Talk to Your Kids About ...

  • Families can talk about the kidnapping. What did the kidnappers expect to happen? What actually happened? How does the kidnapping affect each of the characters?

  • What words would you use to characterize the Browne family? What's important to them? How do they change over the course of the series?

  • How do Louis and Xavier enter this story? How do they differ from the other characters? What's important to them? What kinds of choices do they make throughout the story?
