What's the Story?
FUTURE CHICKEN is a magazine-style news program featuring hosts that come—yes—from the future. Potato the chicken and Frittata the egg come from 2050 to share wisdom on how our kids can help fight climate change, in order to build a more sustainable world. To inspire the viewers, aka "Planet Protectors," each episode explores topics like gardening or zero waste with interviews, games, and original songs.
Is It Any Good?
There's something about approaching doom with optimism that is naturally funny and impressively informative. That's the magic of Future Chicken. Irreverent, original, and unexpected, the absurdity of a chicken from the future and an egg on smart rocket pants is both entertaining and captivating. The magazine format caters to kids' attention spans, combining a single theme reiterated through the conversations between hosts, on-screen explanations, eco-guest interviews, and an original song to recap. It's akin to the golden years of Nickelodeon, with goofy, original content created for the audience and their needs. The show speaks to kids using the internet language they are used to while using an adult format, making it both relatable and educational.
