Ginormo!
What's the Story?
GIONOMO! is an homage to Japanese monster movies made in the 1970s. The show features a team of heroes named the Super Protection Force (SPF) 51 who regularly square off against villains known simply as "BAAD" (The Beast Artilery Action Division) and the Super Monsters. The whole premise of Ginormo is that the show was originally created in the 70s, but was so bad it never made it to air. In keeping with the time period, all of its "special effects" are done without CGI. It features YouTube Star Steven He alongside other recognizable social media influencers.
Is It Any Good?
Intentionally amateurish visuals -- reminiscent of a blend between Star Trek and homemade Power Rangers episodes -- feel as if they were created by middle schoolers. In fact, the shots in Ginormo! exude a quirky charm that might inspire young viewers due to its DIY nature. However, the show unfortunately lives up to its own claim of being terrible, lacking coherence and quality. While its haphazardly bizarre nature could engage younger audiences, most viewers are unlikely to even finish the first episode.
