What's the Story?

GOLD AND GREED: THE HUNT FOR FENN'S TREASURE tells the real-life story of Forrest Fenn, an eccentric art dealer who hid a treasure chest full of gold in the Rocky Mountains and published a poem with clues on how to find it. Over the next decade, more than 300,000 people searched for the treasure, and many were drawn into a web of obsession, danger, and life-altering decisions.

Our review:

Kids say ( 1 ):

This is one of those stories that would seem unbelievable if it weren't true. Gold and Greed: The Hunt for Fenn's Treasure excels at pulling viewers into the mystery and personal stakes of the hunt. Viewers get a front-row seat to the logic, hopes, and heartbreak of various searchers, many of whom become deeply emotionally invested over the years. While the premise is exciting, what lingers most is the psychological complexity of how a simple treasure chest could cause so much upheaval. The show is a fascinating and at times heartbreaking look at ambition, legacy, family, and the human need for meaning.
