What's the Story?

HIJACK is a British television miniseries about a corporate negotiator who finds himself using his professional skills during an airplane hijacking. Sam Nelson (Idris Elba) is flying to London from Dubai on (the fictitious) Kingdom Airlines KA29 in hopes of reconciling with his ex-wife Marsha Nelson-Smith (Christine Adams). When the flight is hijacked early into its seven-hour journey, Nelson must reach those on the ground and try to broker a plan that will save everyone on board.

Is It Any Good?

Our review:
Parents say : Not yet rated
Kids say ( 4 ):

This solid suspense-filled thriller unfolds in real time as one man tries to find a way to prevent a violent end for those on the hijacked international flight. It's not a particularly new premise, but Hijack manages to keep viewers engaged and in constant suspense thanks its ability to keep the pace moving. Meanwhile, Nelson's calm and decisive behavior makes it possible to invest in him throughout the journey, even when some of the hijackers' antics are highly improbable. Those who are sensitive to themes associated with airline disasters may find it a bit wearing. But overall, it's pretty bingeable.
