A Lot or a Little?
The parents' guide to what's in this TV show.
What Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that Hit & Run is an Israeli action drama with English overdubs. The series is about a tour guide who finds himself in the middle of a criminal conspiracy after his wife is brutally killed in a car accident. The series contains some sexual content, including simulated sex. Cigarette smoking and alcohol consumption are sometimes shown. The action sequences are mostly made up of hand-to-hand combat, but characters carry guns and sometimes blood is shown. Violence is not gratuitous; it's strictly related to the plot and characters, and the effects of violence is one of the show's themes.

What's the Story?
HIT & RUN tells the story of an unexpected chain of events set off when an American dancer is accidentally killed by a driver on the streets of Tel Aviv. Her husband, an Israeli tour guide named Segev Azulai (Lior Raz), finds himself entangled in a web of conspiracy and lies that take him all the way to New York in search of answers.
Is It Any Good?
Good conspiracy thrillers often put viewers in the central character's point of view as the action unravels. Hit & Run works because tour guide-turned-amateur detective Segev could not know less about the situation he is thrust into. Then, as he learns more and more about the mystery at the heart of the series, more questions come to the surface than answers. It's a rare show that feels like it could go absolutely any direction from its opening premise, but Hit & Run manages to build intrigue as it goes along.
Talk to Your Kids About ...
Families can talk about the mystery. When do we get the sense that there is more to the story than a simple hit and run? What are the events that seem out of place or in conflict with what we already know? Where do you think the mystery is headed?
What motivates Segev after his wife is killed? Why does he want to find the truth about her death? What actions does he take? Does he prove to be justified in his actions?
Why does Segev travel to New York? How does the series portray the differences between Tel Aviv and New York?
