What's the Story?

HORIMIYA: THE MISSING PIECES fills in the gaps of Hori's (voiced by Marisa Duran) and Miyamura's (voiced by Alejandro Saab) high school days. The sequel series adapts the side stories in the Horimiya manga that weren't included in the original. These stories focus on the teens' growing friendships.

This spin-off sequel is a cheery slice-of-life drama. Horimiya: The Missing Pieces faithfully adapts the missing stories from the original manga. Hori and Miyamura's friendships with classmates are important to their individual character development. So it's nice to see more of the moments that got cut out of Horimiya. While The Missing Pieces works fine enough on it's own, it's best watched alongside the original.

Each episode is a series of random scenes. The "daily life" approach means overarching themes are subtle. But the characters are well-rounded, realistic examples of what it's like to be a teen navigating friendship, schoolwork, and romance.
