Is It Cake? Holiday
What's the Story?
In IS IT CAKE? HOLIDAY, host Mikey Day (SNL) returns along with all-star bakers from the previous three seasons of Is It Cake? In each episode, the contestants create hyper-realistic cake sculptures of holiday-themed items as they vie for a $25,000 prize. The bakers attempt to make cakes so realistic that celebrity guest judges like Wayne Brady and Tiffany Haddish can't tell them apart from the real thing. Most of the cakes celebrate Christmas, but there are a few nods to Hanukkah and Kwanzaa as well. Day gleefully asks "Is it cake?" before trying to slice into the item the judges pick as the cake hiding amongst identical decoy objects. The winner of each episode competes in the finale for a chance to be crowned "Is It Cake? Holiday Champion."
Is It Any Good?
Kid and adult fans of the original series will delight in seeing their favorite competitors return for festive fun. In Is It Cake? Holiday, the bakers' holiday-themed cake sculptures are truly impressive, and Day's slightly unhinged but endearing hosting style continues to charm. The series is superb for whole-family viewing, especially since it's equally fun to guess Is It Cake? from the comforts of home.
