What's the Story?

JENTRY CHAU VS. THE UNDERWORLD takes a new perspective on the battle of being a teenager—literally. On her 16th birthday, Jentry Chau, a Chinese American teen attending a boarding school in Seoul, South Korea, discovers that she's destined to protect humanity from supernatural threats. Her wise, sarcastic, and eccentric grandmother, Gugu, serves as her martial arts instructor and much-needed guide to the Underworld. Jentry must move back to her small hometown in Texas, where her actions of the past still haunt her. Navigating the challenges of being in high school, sustaining friendships, and spending time with family is hard enough—try doing it while also being responsible for saving the word. In order to survive the real world and the Underworld, Jentry must learn what it takes to be a hero.
