What's the Story?

In KISS SIXTH SENSE, Hong Ye-seul (Seo Jie-hye, Crash Landing on You) puts in long hours at an advertising agency, working hard to gain traction with her boss, Cha Min-hoo (Yoon Kyesang, of the K-pop band g.o.d.). Her boss is hard on her, telling her to develop her sixth sense so she can better understand the clients' needs. What he doesn't know is that Ye-seul already has a sixth sense—it pops up when her lips touch anyone, even unintentionally. Will she be able to use her senses to climb the corporate ladder? Or will she burn out before clearing the first rung?

Seeing a female lead work to the point of illness, while being simultaneously bullied and seduced by male colleague doesn't do this romance any favors. Though the premise of a main character's premonition shows potential, this Cinderella story is slow to take flight.

Kiss Sixth Sense glorifies unhealthy power dynamics in work and personal relationships. Parents would do well to steer curious teens to shows where women are shown respect both in and out of the office.

  • Families can talk about communication in Kiss Sixth Sense. What's another word for having a sixth sense? Is it something you can learn?

  • A boss sends mixed messages to one of his employees: He criticizes her and then gives her a credit card for clothes shopping. He yells at her and then cares for her. How does compassion differ from manipulation?

  • Working with a group in a professional setting requires teamwork. What happens when the leader isn't kind to the team members?
